- Doom Object Editor
- Version 1.0

- INTRODUCTION:
-
- Welcome to the my version of a DOOM editor. There seems to be a few popping
- up lately. Truly a testimony to how much everyone enjoys this awesome game.
- Thanks to Id for pushing the limits and making not DOOM: The Game, but
- DOOM: The Experience!
-
-
- LOADING:
-
- Just type DEDIT to run the program. If you are running it from a directory
- other than your DOOM directory, then you must edit (or create) DEDIT.CFG and
- change the PATH line so that DEDIT can find the DOOM data files. For example,
- the line might read, "PATH=D:\GAMES\DOOM".
-
-
- INSTRUCTIONS:
-
- Most functions are self-explanatory, but here's a basic breakdown.
-
- Load Level - Select a level from a picklist.
- Save Level - Save current level changes to a DEDIT work file.
- Quit - Exit program.
- Zoom In - Make view closer.
- Zoom Out - Make view further away.
- Arrows - Move view in those directions.
-
- Object:
- Add - Add a new object to the map.
- Change - Change type, skill levels, and angle of current object.
- Move - Move current object to a new location.
- Delete - Delete current object.
-
- Make WAD - Creates (or overwrites) DEDIT.WAD after giving a picklist of
- levels to include. By default, only those levels that you have
- changed are included (but any number of levels can be selected).
-
- Other points:
- For arrow and zoom controls, clicking with the right button adjusts by larger
- increments than with the left button.
-
- Within the map display, the left button selects an object. The right button
- centers the view on the mouse cursor.
-
